Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. One of her first Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director has spent most of her career working alongside prominent directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. This film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford will return in 2023 and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who produced Hamilton. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment trial in more than one century. In two seasons, Ashford was the main character of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway performances. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
